LAKE FOREST, IL - Junior swimmer Jie Li (Gurnee, IL) has been named the Forester Athlete of the Week for the weeks of November 16-22nd and November 23-29th. The two weeks were combined because of the Thanksgiving holiday.

After the first three meets of the season, Li remains undefeated in eight individual races, and has helped the relay teams on which she has participated to wins in both of the dual meets. Her specialty, though, is the backstroke, and on Saturday (November 18th) at the Washington University Invitational, she exhibited her proficiency in that event. Her school record time of 58.64 in the 100-yard backstroke is the fastest in NCAA Division III so far this season and automatically qualifies her to swim in the national championship meet in March.

The Lake Forest College Athletic Department selects a Forester Athlete of the Week each Thursday.
