Foresters Defeat Knox, Webster, and Host Monmouth in Triple Dual
Hable, Ojdana, and Bueter each win three individual events

events and swam on a victorious relay team.
MONMOUTH, IL - The Lake Forest College swimming & diving teams traveled to Monmouth College on Saturday (November 5) and came away with victories over each of their three “triple dual” opponents. The Forester women defeated Knox College 98-21, Webster University 83-39, and Monmouth 73-49. The men knocked off Knox 96-19, Webster 77-43, and the hosts 67-55. It was the season opener for both Lake Forest squads.

Forester sophomore Mia Hable (Hudson, OH/Hudson) recorded victories in the 1000-freestyle (11:28.38), 100-freestyle (59.32), and 500-freestyle (5:38.01). She also teamed with classmate Stephanie Kierzek (Vernon Hills, IL/Vernon Hills), freshman Jenna Sasanfar (Tonka Bay, MN/Minnetonka), and senior Erin Colwell (Northfield, MN/Northfield) for a victory in the 200-freestyle relay (1:50.43).

Junior Chelsea Bueter (Swisher, IA/Prairie) also won each of her three individual events. She posted times of 2:21.24 in the 200-butterfly, 2:32.69 in the 200-breaststroke, and 2:20.30 in the 200-individual medley.

Other event winners on the women’s side included Colwell in the 200-freestyle (2:10.34) and Sasanfar in the 100-backstroke (1:05.64).

Freshman Dustin Koch (Carmel, IN/Carmel), senior Aaron Koop (Newton, KS/Newton), junior Derek Drayer (Albuquerque, NM/Eldorado), and sophomore Michael Ojdana (Cincinnati, OH/St. Xavier) combined to win the meet’s opening event, the 200-medley relay (1:44.12). Ojdana also touched the wall first in the next two events, the 1000-freestyle (11:01.20) and 200-freestyle. He later added a victory in the 500-freestyle (5:11.35).

Koch also placed first in the 100-backstroke with a time of 59.93 and junior Jon D’Angelo (Ann Arbor, MI/Ann Arbor) won the 200-butterfly in 2:08.16.

The Foresters will compete at home for the first time this season next Friday (November 11). The team will host Carthage College at 6:00 p.m.
