Lake Forest Swimming and Diving Debuts Against Carthage
Bueter gets 3 wins and Isaacs 2 in season opener

The 03-04 season is off to a great start for Chelsea Bueter and Joe Isaacs.
LAKE FOREST, IL - The 2003-2004 Lake Forest College swimming and diving teams hit the water for the first time this season when they hosted Carthage College Friday night (October 31). Though both the women and men were defeated, several strong performances gave the Foresters reason to be optimistic.

One thing was clear in the women's 82-112 loss - the first-year swimmers will make an immediate impact. They registered four of the Foresters' five individual wins. Chelsea Bueter (Swisher, IA/Prairie) was impressive in her debut, winning the 200-meter individual medley (2:32.20), the 100-meter butterfly (1:08.88) and the 100-meter breaststroke (1:18.10) to lead the team. Sophomore transfer Maura Ryan (Chicago, IL/St. Ignatius Prep) was victorious (1:05.74) and Alexandra Hales (New Iberia, LA/Episcopal School) finished second (1:06.08) in the 100-meter freestyle.

The fifth win for the Forester women was recorded by sophomore Erin Colwell (Northfield, MN/Northfield) in the 100-meter backstroke (1:14.88). She also claimed second in the 200-Free (2:21.01), while junior Emily Woods (Signal Mountain, TN/Girls Prep) added a second place in the 50-Free (30.06) and a third in the 100-meter butterfly (1:13.36).

A small Lake Forest men's squad won four of nine individual races in their 71-97 defeat. Senior Joe Isaacs (Shorewood, MN/Breck) led the way with victories in the 50-meter (26.40) and 100-meter (58.06) freestyle events. Sophomore Aaron Koop (Newton, KS/Newton) and freshman Jonathan D'Angelo (Ann Arbor, MI/Ann Arbor) earned the other wins and scored points in all three of their races. Koop captured the 100-meter breaststroke (1:16.49) and placed second in the 400-meter freestyle (4:50.68) and third in the 200-meter individual medley (2:32.55). D'Angelo was first in the 400-Free (4:48.95) and third in both the 200-Free (2:17.20) and the 100-meter butterfly (1:05.86).

Lake Forest will be in action again tomorrow as they travel to Benedictine University for a dual meet.
