Diving Coach Susan Bromberg

The 2008-09 season is Susan Bromberg's eighth on the Forester staff and she has been coaching diving in the Chicagoland area since 1985.

Bromberg was named National Diving Coach of the Year by the College Swim Coaches Association of America after the 2006 National Championship Meet after directing sophomore Kendall Swett to Diver of the Year honors and classmate Maggie Rezac to a pair of All-American finishes. Lake Forest tied for 18th at the meet with the two divers accounting for all of the team's points.

In her seven years with the program, Lake Forest has had three divers claim a total of nine Midwest Conference championships. Rezac was named MWC Diver of the Year in 2005, 2007, and 2008 and Swett in 2006, and they have combined for an individual national title and 10 All-American finishes in six combined seasons under Bromberg's direction. Rezac owns three of the program's four diving records and Swett the other.

Bromberg was the high school coach at Highland Park for 10 years and is now one of the head coaches of Windy City Diving, a registered club with United States Diving and AAU Diving. She has coached two US Diving National Champions and many All-Americans and state finalists at the high school level. She is also currently the president and treasurer for the Illinois Diving Association.

Bromberg grew up in St. Louis, Missouri, and was a state champion in diving. She graduated from the University of Illinois-Urbana in 1983 and was a member of the women's diving team there for four years.
