They also earned 31 Academic All-Midwest honors during Saylor’s six years as head coach. In addition to coaching the volleyball team, Saylor was Illinois College’s head softball coach and Director of the Bellatti Fitness Center on campus. The softball team claimed the 2005 MWC South Division title and she was named the division’s Coach of the Year three times. Saylor spent the 2001 season as an assistant volleyball coach and assistant athletic trainer at Tiffin University in Tiffin, Ohio. She also coached local club programs that year. Saylor graduated from Heidelberg College, also located in Tiffin, Ohio, in 2000. She then earned a master’s degree in sports science from the United States Sports Academy in Daphne, Alabama, in December of 2001. “I’m very excited about the opportunity to continue my coaching career at Lake Forest College,” begins Saylor. “I look forward to putting all of my energy and enthusiasm into volleyball and believe that focusing on just one sport will make me a better coach. The Forester program has been extremely successful in the past and I look forward to being on the sideline for many victories in the future.” “With five conference championships in the last 11 years, the volleyball team has been one of the most successful on campus,” states Slaats. “I am very confident in Coach Saylor’s ability to coach and recuit the type of student-athletes that will continue the program’s winning tradition. She will be a wonderful addition to our staff.”
