LAKE FOREST, IL - Lake Forest College volleyball player Janelle Balcerzak (Milwaukee, WI/Pius XI) was named Midwest Conference Performer of the Week on Tuesday (November 2) for helping lead the Foresters to a 2-1 record over the last seven days.

Balcerzak matched her career high with 19 kills and added three blocks in the team’s four-game triumph at Wheaton College on Tuesday (October 26). She committed just one hitting error in the match and posted a lofty .581 hitting percentage.

On Thursday (October 28), the sophomore pounded out a dozen kills and recorded three blocks again in a four-game loss at Elmhurst College, the nation’s 23rd-ranked team.

Finally, the team closed out the regular season with a four-game victory at home over Concordia University (IL) on Saturday (October 30) and Balcerzak had 14 kills and yet another three-block performance. She posted a hitting percentage of .333 in the match and added her 64th ace of the season, one shy of the school record.

Balcerzak finished the week with 45 kills, nine blocks, a pair of aces, and a hitting percentage of .370.
