Foresters Claim Lake Forest Bragging Rights
Lake Forest best cross-town foe Barat

LAKE FOREST, IL - Lake Forest College had to travel just over a mile to claim a road victory on Thursday (October 12th), as they defeated cross-town rival, Barat College, in three games (16-14, 15-4, 15-6).

It was Lake Forest's fourth consecutive win and sixth victory in their last seven contests as they improved their overall record to 15-5. With five regular season matches yet to be played, the Foresters are just four wins shy of last year's win total. In 1999, Lake Forest finished 19-11 overall, won the Midwest Conference championship, and advanced to the second round of the NCAA Tournament.

Senior Amanda Taylor (Chico, CA/Pleasant Valley) recorded a team-high 13 kills and added nine digs for the evening. Stephanie Reinboldt (McHenry, IL/Marian Central Catholic) contributed 10 kills and seven digs, Sarah Frantz (Lake Geneva, WI/Badger) had 32 assists and nine digs, while Leslie Boyle (Chicago Heights, IL/Marian Catholic) led the team with 11 digs. It was the 11th time this season that Reinboldt has notched double figures for kills in a match.

Lake Forest's 21st match of the season will be the team's Midwest Conference opener, as the Foresters will host Grinnell College on Saturday (October 14th) with a 11:00 start time. Four of the team's next five games will be MWC South Division contests.
