Jenny Anderson holds school records for digs in a career, season, and match.
GRINNELL, IA - The Lake Forest College volleyball team claimed a pair of Midwest Conference road victoriers over the weekend (October 17-18) to extend its winning streak to 11 matches, one shy of the school record. The Foresters defeated Knox College in five games (30-23, 28-30, 19-30, 30-23, 15-6) on Friday and Grinnell College in three games (30-24, 30-26, 30-21) on Saturday to raise their overall record to 14-8 and their league mark to 6-2. Knox fell to 6-17 overall and 1-6 in the MWC and Grinnell's overall and conference records dropped to 6-20 and 2-4, respectively.

Ten days after matching the school record for digs in a match with 29, senior captain Jenny Anderson (Sebastopol, CA/El Molino) set a new mark with 30 on Friday. She also added 13 kills and a pair of aces. Fellow senior captain Stephanie Metzger (Chicago, IL/Lane Tech) was just one behind Anderson with a career-high 29 digs and led all players with 17 kills and five aces. Sophomore Meghan Miller (Williams Bay, WI/Williams Bay) tallied 25 digs and junior Amy Krueger (Tinley Park, IL/Andrew) registered 20 digs and 11 kills. Freshman Janelle Balcerzak (Milwaukee, WI/Pius XI) gave the team a fourth player in double figures in kills with 10. Junior Andrea Krueger (Tinley Park, IL/Andrew) had 50 assists and added six kills and four aces.

Lake Forest had 64 kills as a team but committed 25 attack errors and posted a .199 hitting percentage. Knox had 43 kills, 16 errors, and a .139 hitting percentage.

On Saturday, Anderson led the Foresters with a match-high 13 kills and added a dozen digs. She is now just 23 kills shy of the school record of 1,290 set by Stephanie Reinboldt '02. Metzger had a match-high 21 digs and, with nine against Grinnell, needs 82 more kills to join Anderson as the only players in team history to reach the 1,000-mark in both kills and digs in a career. Amy Krueger reached double figures in both kills (10) and digs (12) for the second straight match and, with 18 on Saturday, Miller recorded at least 10 digs for the 14th consecutive match and at least 15 for the 12th time in the last 13 contests. Andrea Krueger had 40 more assists to raise her total on the year to 877. She also leads the team with 40 aces, including three against Grinnell.

The Foresters posted a season-high .308 hitting percentage while the Pioneers hit just .183.

Lake Forest will attempt to extend its winning streak at the UW-Oshkosh Tournament next weekend (October 24-25). The Foresters will take on Marian College (4:00) and Hamline University (6:00) Friday evening and Concordia University (10:00 a.m.) and the hosts (noon) on Saturday.
