LAKE FOREST, IL - On paper it looked like a tight match. Lake Forest College was 6-1 in the Midwest Conference and Illinois College was 5-2. They both finished 4-1 versus the five North Division opponents in the Crossover Tournament in September, and both teams are considered legitimate contenders for the Conference Championship. A Lady Blues win Saturday, October, 20, would even the teams' records at 6-2 and lock them in a second-place tie in the conference standings.

The anticipated close match never materialized, however, as Lake Forest controlled things from the start and cruised to a 30-15, 30-18, 30-15 victory. That means that with just one MWC match to play the Foresters remain one point behind conference leader St. Norbert College and still have a chance to capture the number one seed for the Midwest Conference Championship Tournament.

Not surprisingly, Saturday's match statistics were as lopsided as the scores. The Foresters registered 40 kills (12 errors), nine aces and ten blocks, while the Lady Blues recorded 29 kills (24 errors), one ace and five blocks.

Individually, senior middle blocker Stephanie Reinboldt (McHenry, IL/Marian Central Catholic) led the way for Lake Forest with 13 kills, a hitting percentage of .500, six blocks and three aces. Another senior, setter Leslie Boyle (Chicago Heights, IL/Marian Catholic) had 33 assists and 9 digs, while Jenny Anderson (Sebastopol, CA/El Molino) and Andrea Krueger (Tinley Park, IL/Andrew) chipped in with 12 kills (.407 hitting percentage) and four aces, respectively.

Next up for the 18-11 Foresters is a Tuesday, October 23, home match versus non-conference opponent Carthage College. The team's four seniors will be honored before the match, which begins at 7:00 p.m.
