Lake Forest Wins Two of Three Matches at UW-Oshkosh Quadrangular
Metzger breaks school record for digs in a match
  

Stephanie Metzger's 28 digs on Friday set a new school record.
OSHKOSH, WI - The Forester volleyball team collected a pair of victories against one loss at the UW-Oshkosh Quadrangular this weekend (October 25-26). On Friday night, Lake Forest defeated the University of Chicago (30-32, 30-21, 32-30, 30-18) for the second time this season. On Saturday, the Foresters knocked off Augsburg College (30-26, 30-21, 30-22) before falling to the host school in three games (30-14, 30-18, 30-16). Lake Forest's record is now 17-11, assuring the team of its 11th consecutive winning season.

In the win over Chicago, junior co-captain Stephanie Metzger (Chicago, IL/Lane Tech) tallied a team-high 19 kills and a school-record 28 digs. Fellow junior co-captain Jenny Anderson (Sebastopol, CA/El Molino) added 15 kills and 19 digs while junior Jenna Harper (St. Louis, MO/Clayton) and senior Kelly McNiff (Maryland Heights, MO/Pattonville) chipped in 10 kills each.

Both sophomore setters, DeAnna Bauer (Naperville, IL/Naperville North) and Andrea Krueger (Tinley Park, IL/Andrew), had 28 assists. Krueger and Harper each had three aces and Bauer added a dozen digs.

In the Saturday morning match against Augsburg, Amy Krueger (Tinley Park, IL/Andrew) led the way with 12 kills and 18 digs. Metzger added another 10 kills and nine digs. Sophomore Abbey Larson (Livonia, MI/Stevenson) had five aces and three blocks.

Leading the team in assists was freshman Jenny Lackey (Indianapolis, IN/Lawrence North) with a season-high 32. The total was also the highest for any one Forester in a three-game match this season.

Lake Forest ran into a team on a roll when it took on UW-Oshkosh. The Titans won all three of their matches over the weekend and have taken seven of their last eight. Metzger led the Foresters in kills against Oshkosh with just five. Amy Krueger had ten digs.

Metzger finished the weekend with a team-high 34 kills and 42 digs, one shy of Amy Krueger's team-leading 43. Larson ended up with eight blocks and six aces. Andrea Krueger tallied 41 assists.

Lake Forest will travel to UW-Whitewater on Tuesday (October 29) to take on the nation's sixth-ranked team (7:00 p.m.). The team's final regular season match will be next Saturday (November 2) at 1:00 p.m. when the Foresters play host to Grinnell College and celebrate Senior and Alumni Day.
