Nicole Baich Named MWC Performer of the Week
Freshman helps Foresters snatch title at Forester Invitational

Nicole Baich had 18 blocks in four matches last week.
LAKE FOREST, IL - Lake Forest College volleyball player Nicole Baich (Westchester, IL/Nazareth Academy) was named Midwest Conference Performer of the Week on Tuesday (October 5). She helped lead the Foresters to a 4-0 record for the week, including an MWC win over Knox College on Friday and three victories in the Forester Invitational on Saturday (October 2).

Baich dominated the net against Beloit College on Saturday with 17 kills and seven blocks, including five solos. The victory avenged last Saturday’s (September 25) loss to the Buccaneers and advanced the home team to the event’s title match.

Baich was also a key player in the championship match of the Invitational against Coe College, when she tied her own school record with six solo blocks. She finished the day with 32 kills, a .381 hitting percentage and 18 blocks, including 14 solos.

Baich has already set a single-season school record with 48 solo blocks. She also has 93 total blocks on the year and is closing in on the school record of 125. She recorded 36 kills and 22 blocks on the week.

MWC Performers of the Week are selected by the league’s sports information directors.
