Lake Forest received a balanced attack defensively and offensively. Junior setter Andrea Krueger (Tinley Park, IL/Andrew) matched career highs in assists and digs as she finished the match with 58 and 15, respectively. Krueger has accumulated 676 assists so far this year and has racked up 1,436 in her career. She is currently eight assists behind Leslie Boyle '01 for fourth place in school history. The Foresters battled to win the first two games (34-32, 32-30) before falling 30-25 in the third. But Lake Forest bounced back to take the match with a 30-23 victory in the fourth game. Senior blocker Jenna Harper (St. Louis, MO/Clayton) led the Foresters with 19 kills and added three blocks along with a pair of aces and digs. After 17 matches, Harper leads the team with 50 blocks. Senior Stephanie Metzger (Chicago, IL/Lane Tech) finished the night with another all-around impressive performance. The outside hitter racked up 13 kills, while notching a match-high 19 digs and six blocks. Freshman Janelle Balcerzak (Milwaukee, WI/Pius XI) also finished the match with 13 kills and tallied five blocks. Metzger leads the team in kills (196) and digs (241), and is 13 digs shy of becoming only the third player in school history to amass 1,000 in her career. Sophomore Meghan Miller (Williams Bay, WI/Williams Bay) chipped in with 17 digs and senior outside hitter Jenny Anderson (Sebastopol, CA/El Molino) finished with ten. Miller's 230 digs on the season ranks her second on the team while Anderson is third with 205. Lake Forest will host the annual Forester Invitational on Saturday (October 12). The Foresters will battle Dominican University at 10:00 a.m. before taking on University of Chicago at 2:00 p.m. The day will conclude with a championship match scheduled for 6:00 p.m.
