LAKE FOREST, IL - On Tuesday (September 16) the Forester volleyball team hosted UW-Whitewater, the defending NCAA Division III Champions and currently the nation's third-ranked team. The Warhawks defeated Lake Forest 30-19, 30-20, 30-25, dropping the Foresters' record on the year to 3-5.

Senior Stephanie Metzger (Chicago, IL/Lane Tech) led Lake Forest with a dozen kills and as many digs. She committed just two hitting errors in 30 attempts for a .333 hitting percentage. Metzger leads the team with 92 kills and 109 digs this season.

Junior Andrea Krueger (Tinley Park, IL/Andrew) tallied 27 assists in the match and freshman Janelle Balcerzak (Milwaukee, WI/Pius XI) had three aces. Senior Jenna Harper (St. Louis, MO/Clayton) led the squad in blocks with five.

Senior Jenny Anderson (Sebastopol, CA/El Molino) recorded four digs in the match, giving her exactly 1,000 in her career. Anderson is one of two players in the program's history with at least 1,000 digs, one of just three with 1,000-plus kills, and the only one on both lists. She is currently 184 kills and 78 digs shy of matching the school records in both categories.

The Foresters will not play another match until next Friday (September 26) when they host Illinois Wesleyan University. The team will begin league play the following two days (September 27-28) at the Midwest Conference Crossover Tournament, held at Beloit College.
