Sarah Frantz Named MWC Player of the Week
Receives Her Fifth Career Player of the Week Award

LAKE FOREST, IL - Lake Forest College's Sarah Frantz, a 5-6 senior setter from Lake Geneva, WI (Badger High School), has been named the Midwest Conference South Division Player of the Week for September 11-17. It is the fifth time in her career that she has received such an honor. She was the league's player of the week once as a sophomore and three times last year.

Frantz, the 1999 MWC Player of the Year, led Lake Forest to a 3-0 week, including wins versus perennially-strong opponents Benedictine, 15-13, 15-11, 15-6, and North Central, 15-13, 10-15, 15-2, 15-17, 15-12, at Saturday's (September 16th) North Central Triangular. LF also defeated Trinity International, 15-6, 15-9, 15-12, earlier in the week.

She averaged 11.73 assists per game for the week (129 total assists in 11 games played) and led the team with nine aces, including five versus Trinity International. Frantz also had 28 digs, two blocks, and two kills for the week.

Her first ace against Trinity International moved her into the top stop for career aces in LF's school record book. She now is the school's career leader for assists and aces.

The Midwest Conference Players of the Week are selected by the league's Sports Information Directors.
