Lizmarie Davila had 10 kills without an error in 15 attempts.
LISLE, IL - The Foresters volleyball team split a pair of matches Friday (September 20) at Benedictine University. In the first contest, Lake Forest outlasted North Central College (31-29, 21-30, 24-30, 30-19, 15-13). In the late match, the Foresters were defeated by Benedictine University (30-22, 30-26, 30-27).

Junior Jenny Anderson (Sebastopol, CA/El Molino) continued to lead the team in kills with 18 against North Central and 16 against Benedictine. She now has 155 on the season and 802 for her career, moving her into sixth in team history. With five aces and 30 digs Friday night, Anderson also moved into the team-lead in those categories with 15 and 55 on the season, respectively.

Three other players reached double-figures in kills for Lake Forest on the evening. Juniors Stephanie Metzger (Chicago, IL/Lane Tech) and Jenna Harper (St. Louis, MO/Clayton) each tallied 13. Metzger had 11 of her kills and as many digs against North Central. Harper continued to pace the Foresters in blocks, recording eight on the night to raise her team-leading total to 37 on the year. Fellow junior Lizmarie Davila (Carpentersville, IL/Kelvyn Park) had played in only two matches and had just three kills before Friday night, but was unfazed in her first significant playing time of the year. Against North Central, she tallied six kills in as many attempts, and against Benedictine, she notched four more in nine attempts. Her 10 kills without an error in 15 attempts gave her an astounding .667 hitting percentage for the evening.

Setters Andrea Krueger (Tinley Park, IL/Andrew) and DeAnna Bauer (Naperville, IL/Naperville North) combined for 79 assists Friday, giving them 199 and 183 for the season, respectively. Krueger also ranks third on the squad with a dozen aces and Bauer is second in blocks with 16.

The Foresters will play their homecoming match Thursday (September 26) at 7:00 p.m. against Dominican University. Next weekend (September 28-29), the team will be at Beloit College for the Midwest Conference Crossover Tournament, where they will play each of the schools from the league's North Division (Beloit College, Carroll College, Lawrence University, Ripon College, and St. Norbert College).
