Lake Forest Climbs Back Above .500 with Win over Dubuque
Midwest Conference Crossover Tournament coming up

LAKE FOREST, IL - The Forester volleyball team hosted and defeated the University of Dubuque Thursday (September 23) in three games (30-24, 30-23, 30-22). Lake Forest is now 7-6 on the season and Dubuque fell to 3-13.

Senior Amy Krueger (Tinley Park, IL/Andrew) and sophomore Janelle Balcerzak (Milwaukee, WI/Pius XI) tied for the team lead with eight kills. Krueger also chipped in three aces and 14 digs while Balcerzak’s pair of aces raised her team-leading total to 33.

Junior Meghan Miller (Williams Bay, WI/Williams Bay) led the squad with 15 digs and five aces and freshman Merissa Martin (Vernon Hills, IL/Vernon Hills) added 13 and two, respectively. Senior Andrea Krueger (Tinley Park, IL/Andrew) had 10 digs, an ace, and 28 assists.

The Foresters will take on the five Midwest Conference North Division teams at this weekend’s (September 25-26) MWC Crossover Tournament at Beloit College. Saturday’s opponents include Ripon College, St. Norbert College, and Beloit. The team will also play Lawrence University and Carroll College on Sunday. Three Lake Forest victories at the event would give head coach Beth Pier 200 in her career.
