Stephanie Reinboldt needs 35 kills to break the school record.
LAKE FOREST, IL - Monday (September 24th) night the Lake Forest College volleyball team played host to UW-Whitewater, the fourth-ranked team in Division III. The Foresters stole a game from the Warhawks but eventually fell three games to one (30-24, 27-30, 30-23, 30-25).

Senior Stephanie Reinboldt (McHenry, IL/Marian Central Catholic) entered the game with 992 kills in her career and got her eighth of the night in the Foresters' 16th point of game two. Head Coach Beth Pier called a timeout shortly thereafter so news of the milestone could be announced to those in attendance. Reinboldt finished the match with 16 kills, seven digs, a block and three aces.

Sophomore Stephanie Metzger (Chicago, IL/Lane Tech) led the team with 19 kills and as many digs. Sophomore Jenny Anderson (Sebastopol, CA/El Molino) added a dozen kills and 13 digs and senior setter Leslie Boyle (Chicago Heights, IL/Marian Catholic) tallied 59 assists and 13 digs in the match. Boyle now has 138 digs in 2001 and 844 in her career, the second-highest total in school history. Anna Panighetti ('98) holds the record with 912.

Panighetti, at least for a few days, also holds the record for career kills with 1,042. With Reinboldt averaging nearly 12 kills per match and needing just 34 more to catch Panighetti, that record will most likely fall this weekend when the Foresters play all five Midwest Conference North Division teams in Beloit at the MWC Crossover Tournament.

Lake Forest (6-8) will play at the University of Chicago in their next match on Wednesday (September 26th) at 7:00 pm. Chicago is 1-8 but will be playing their first home match of the season.
