LAKE FOREST, IL - Lake Forest senior Leslie Boyle (Chicago Heights, IL/Marian Catholic) has been named the Midwest Conference South Division Player of the Week for September 17-23rd.

After spending three years and the first six matches of this season as exclusively a defensive specialist, Boyle was inserted into the setter position and charged with turning around a 1-5 team.

At the Illinois Wesleyan University Fall Classic Tournament last weekend (September 14-15th), Boyle played her first four games at setter and Lake Forest won three of them, taking home second place in the 12-team tourney. Boyle tallied 149 assists, 5 aces and 40 digs in the three wins over Illinois Wesleyan University (3-1), Maranatha Baptist Bible College (3-0) and Lakeland College (3-0) and the loss to tournament champion Benedictine University (1-3).

In the Foresters' 3-0 win at Judson College on Thursday (September 20th), Boyle had 38 assists and led the team in digs with 12.

On Saturday (September 22nd), Lake Forest lost to UW-Eau Claire (0-3) and beat host Lawrence University (3-1). On the day, Boyle recorded 93 assists and added 21 digs and a couple of aces.

Her totals for the seven matches included 280 assists (11.67 per game), 8 aces and 73 digs.

The Midwest Conference Player of the Week is selected by the league's sports information directors.
