Foresters Finish 3-2 at Midwest Conference Crossover Tournament
Anderson named to All-Tournament Team
  

Jenny Anderson was named to the All-Tournament Team.
BELOIT, WI - After falling twice on Saturday (September 27), the Lake Forest College volleyball team bounced back to record three wins Sunday (September 28) at the Midwest Conference Crossover Tournament, hosted by Beloit College. The three conference victories boost the Foresters' overall record to 6-8 and league mark to 3-2.

On Saturday, Lake Forest fell to Ripon College in five games (28-30, 34-32, 30-24, 28-30, 11-15) and St. Norbert College in three (21-30, 28-30, 26-30). Against Ripon, senior Jenny Anderson (Sebastopol, CA/El Molino) led the Foresters with 17 kills while juniors Andrea Krueger (Tinley Park, IL/Andrew) and Meghan Miller (Williams Bay, WI/Williams Bay) added 54 assists and 27 digs, respectively. In the loss to St. Norbert, senior Stephanie Metzger (Chicago, IL/Lane Tech) tallied a match-high 14 kills and added eight digs while junior Amy Krueger (Tinley Park, IL/Andrew) led all players with 18 digs.

Sunday morning the Foresters defeated Lawrence University in five games (30-20, 23-30, 30-19, 29-31, 15-7). Anderson finished the match with a team-high 15 kills and 21 digs while freshman Janelle Balcerzak (Milwaukee, WI/Pius XI) had a match-high three aces in the win.

The Foresters made quick work of Carroll College Sunday afternoon to win their second straight conference match. In three games (31-29, 30-21, 30-24), Anderson racked up a team-high 13 kills and three aces while Miller finished with a match-high 16 digs. Meanwhile, freshman setter Kendra Casey (Wauwatosa, WI/Wauwatosa West) recorded 23 assists in the two games she played. 

In its fifth and final match of the tournament, Lake Forest beat Beloit College in the first two games (30-17, 30-23) before falling in games three and four (32-34, 29-31). However, the Foresters pulled off a 15-7 win over the hosts in the fifth game to capture their third straight win. Once again, Anderson led the team with a match-high 17 kills while adding 18 digs. Miller poured in a team-high 19 digs in the win and Andrea Krueger registered a match-high 52 assists.

Anderson was named to the All-Tournament Team after posting 66 kills, 62 digs, 10 blocks, and six aces on the weekend. Andrea Krueger tallied 197 assists in the five matches and Miller finished with 92 digs. Amy Krueger and Balcerzak led the team with eight aces apiece and senior middle blockerJenna Harper (St. Louis, MO/Clayton) recorded a team-high 17 blocks.

The Foresters will take their three-game winning streak to Aurora University on Friday, October 3.
