Foresters Record Convincing Victory in Home Opener
Team has won three consecutive matches

LAKE FOREST, IL - The Lake Forest College volleyball team hosted and defeated Aurora University on Tuesday (September 7) in three games (30-24, 30-17, 30-18). It was the Foresters’ third consecutive victory and the team is now 3-2.

Lake Forest utilized a balanced attack, led by middle blocker Nicole Baich’s (Westchester,IL/Nazareth Academy) 10 kills. The freshman also added a pair of blocks and leads the squad with 18 on the year. Senior outside hitter Amy Krueger (Tinley Park, IL/Andrew) finished the night with nine kills, 14 digs, and a game-best five aces. Her sister, Andrea Krueger (Tinley Park, IL/Andrew), tallied 26 assists and added two digs. Amy is the team leader in kills (55) and Andrea has 188 of the team’s 220 total assists.

Junior Meghan Miller (Williams Bay, WI/Williams Bay) paced Lake Forest with 15 digs. Miller also notched four assists and kills in the win. Overall, Miller ranks fifth on the team in kills and leads the squad with 79 digs. The senior has 876 career digs, which currently places her sixth on the program’s all-time leaderboard in that category.

The Foresters will host the Lake Forest College Triangular on Saturday (September 11). The team will open play against Benedictine University at 10:00 a.m. and end the day battling North Central College at 2:00 in the afternoon. Lake Forest defeated Benedictine in five games last year and is 14-9 all-time against North Central.
