GRUBBS NAMED LEAGUE'S FIRST PLAYER OF THE WEEK
Junior Alison
Grubbs (Cullom, IL/Tri-Point High School), a 5-6 guard, has been selected
as the Midwest Conference Player of the Week. It is the first such award
of the season and the sixth time in her career that Grubbs has received
the weekly honor. The two-time First Team All-Conference selection averaged
15 points, 6.7 assists, 5 rebounds and 2.3 steals while leading the Foresters
to three consecutive victories to start the season. Lake Forest defeated
Illinois Wesleyan 92-68 on November 23 and won both of their games to claim
the Forester Tip-Off Tournament on November 19-20. Grubbs was named
to the five-member All-Tournament team. She has made 15 of 17 free
throws and has 20 assists while committing only 12 turnovers through the
first three games of the season.
