Shannon Clerkin Named Midwest Conference Performer of the Week
Junior made two all-tournament teams and has three double-doubles
  

Shannon Clerkin is averaging a double-double so far this year.
LAKE FOREST, IL - Lake Forest College women's basketball player Shannon Clerkin (Barneveld, WI/Barneveld) was named Midwest Conference Performer of the Week Tuesday (December 2) for her contributions to the Foresters' 3-2 start to the season.

Clerkin was named to the Forester Tip-Off All-Tournament Team on November 22 after averaging 14.5 points, 11.5 rebounds, 3.0 blocked shots, and 3.0 steals in victories over Concordia University (79-46) and Wheaton College (67-59).

The junior forward then scored 11 points and pulled down five rebounds in a 85-73 loss to Illinois Wesleyan University last Wednesday (November 26).

Clerkin qualified for her second all-tournament team of the year this past weekend (November 29-30) at Washington University's McWilliams Classic. Clerkin scored a career-high 31 points and added a dozen rebounds in Lake Forest's 67-59 loss to Johns Hopkins University on Saturday. In Sunday's 68-55 victory over Rose-Hulman Institute of Technology, she scored 11 points and pulled down 10 boards for her second double-double of the tournament and third of the season.

After five games, Clerkin is leading the team with averages of 16.4 points, 10.0 rebounds, and 2.2 steals per contest. She has also blocked seven shots and is shooting 57.9% from the field.
