Shannon Clerkin Named MWC Player of the Week

Shannon Clerkin leads the team in various statistical categories.
LAKE FOREST, IL - Lake Forest College women's basketball player Shannon Clerkin (Barneveld, WI/Barneveld) was named Midwest Conference Player of the Week Wednesday (December 4) for her contributions to the Foresters' 3-0 start to the 2002-03 season.

Clerkin was named to the Forester Tip-Off All-Tournament Team after leading Lake Forest to the tourney championship. She scored seven points and added a team-high six rebounds in the semifinal 75-40 win over Macalester College. In the 76-47 championship game victory over Aurora University, the sophomore forward recorded game-highs with 15 points and eight rebounds.

In the Foresters' 75-43 triumph at the University of Chicago, Clerkin scored 14 points on 6-of-7 shooting from the field.

Clerkin's season statistics include a 78.9% (15/19) field goal percentage, a 66.7% (2/3) three-point field goal percentage, and an 80.0% (4/5) free throw accuracy. She leads Lake Forest with 12.0 points and 5.7 rebounds per game, four blocked shots and six steals.
