Kandyce Green Named MWC Player of the Week 
Freshman scores 42 points in two games
  

Kandyce Green scored 42 points in 41 minutes last week.
LAKE FOREST, IL - Lake Forest College freshman women's basketball player Kandyce Green (Chicago Heights, IL/Marian Catholic) was named the Midwest Conference Player of the Week for her contributions to a pair of Forester wins over league opponents in the last seven days.

In Wednesday's (February 6th) 93-82 win at Illinois College, Green scored a career-high 25 points. She shot 8-of-12 from the field, 2-of-4 from three-point range, and 7-of-10 from the free throw line in just 20 minutes of play.

On Saturday (February 9th), Green scored a game-high 17 points in the team's 72-54 win at home over Knox College. Green shot 6-of-7 from the floor, 1-of-2 from beyond the three-point arc, and 4-of-5 from the line. She also added five rebounds, three assists and a pair of steals. The victory clinched Lake Forest's spot in the four-team Midwest Conference Championship Tournament, which the Foresters have won each of the last two years.

For the week, Green scored 42 points in 41 minutes while shooting 73.7% (14-of-19) from the floor, 50% (3-of-6) from long-range, and 73.3% (11-of-15) from the charity stripe.

Kandyce, the daughter of former NBA All-Star guard Rickey Green, is the Foresters' top scorer this season with 11.5 points per game. She has at least tied for the team-lead in points nine times in 21 games. She also leads the squad in steals with just over two per contest.
