Sophomore forward Shannon Clerkin (Barneveld, WI/Barneveld) scored a career-high 23 points on Friday and added nine rebounds. She was 8-of-13 from the field and 7-of-8 from the line. Senior forward Katie McCants (Menasha, WI/Menasha) was 8-of-12 from the floor, scored 17 points, and pulled down a game-high 12 rebounds for her fifth double-double of the season. Sophomore guard Alissa Mildebrath (Carol Stream, IL/West Chicago) had 13 points, five rebounds, six assists, and a pair of steals. Lake Forest shot 43.3% (26-of-60) from the field while St. Norbert connected on 45.3% (29-of-64) of its field goals. Both teams had 38 rebounds and the Foresters committed seven more turnovers (27-20). The Green Knights led 28-23 lead after a first half that included four ties and six lead changes. The home team led 44-35 with nine minutes left in regulation before a 12-2 run gave the Foresters their first lead of the second half. St. Norbert regained the advantage two possessions later and held it until Clerkin scored with just over two minutes left to give the visitors a 56-55 lead. The Knights led again as the clock wound down but Clerkin's putback with .6 seconds left in the period tied the score. St. Norbert outscored the Foresters 14-2 over the final three-and-a-half minutes of overtime to claim the victory. Clerkin pulled down 11 rebounds on Saturday and joined junior guard Sherry Wagner (Chicago, IL/Mother McAuley) as the team's leading scorers with 15 points each. McCants added 13 points. The Foresters shot 44.4% (24-of-54) and Beloit 43.6% (24-of-55) from the floor. Lake Forest held a slight edge (34-32) in rebounds and committed six fewer turnovers (36-30) than the Buccaneers. The Foresters were ahead 33-31 at halftime after three ties and eight lead changes in the period. The visitors increased the margin to as many as 12 points (58-46) in the second half but a 16-6 Beloit run cut the margin to two (64-62) with just six seconds remaining. Wagner hit a pair of free throws with four seconds left to preserve the victory. Lake Forest will host Lawrence University (9-8, 6-4 MWC) on Friday (February 7) at 5:30 p.m. On Saturday, the Foresters will face Carroll College (6-10, 4-6) in the Sports Center at 2:00 p.m. Lake
