Kandyce Green Named Forester Athlete of the Week
First-year guard helped her squad clinch a spot in the MWC Championship Tournament

Kandyce Green scored in double figures for the 14th and 15th times this season.
LAKE FOREST, IL - Lake Forest College basketball player Kandyce Green (Chicago Heights, IL/Marian Catholic) was named the Forester Athlete of the Week after a two-game stretch in which she averaged 15.5 points, 4 rebounds and 3.5 steals. The Foresters were 1-1 in those two games, but the win over Knox College clinched a spot in the four-team Midwest Conference Championship Tournament.

Green was the team's high scorer in Saturday's 72-54 home victory over Knox. Her 17 points came on 6-of-7 shooting from the floor, including 1-of-2 from 3-point range, and 4-of-5 shooting from the free throw line. In the 80-75 non-conference loss to Trinity International University, Green scored 14 points and recorded 5 steals before leaving the game with a sprained ankle.

The Foresters' top scorer this season (11.6 points per game) also leads the squad in steals with just over two per contest. In Midwest Conference statistics Green is tied for 5th with teammate Katie McCants in field goal percentage (.496) and ranks 6th in steals with 2.33 per game.

The Forester Athlete of the Week is chosen by the Athletic Department on Thursdays.
