Shannon Clerkin Named MWC Player of the Week 
Sophomore earns honor for second time this season
  

Shannon Clerkin is the MWC Player of the Week again.
LAKE FOREST, IL - Lake Forest College women's basketball player Shannon Clerkin (Barneveld, WI/Barneveld) was named Midwest Conference Player of the Week Tuesday (February 18) for her contributions to the Foresters' pair of victories over league opponents in the last seven days. It marked the second time this season that Clerkin was chosen for the award. She also earned the honor on December 4.

In last Wednesday's (February 12) 64-57 win at home over Illinois College, Clerkin led all scorers with 18 points and pulled down a team-high nine rebounds. She also added a pair of blocked shots.

On Saturday (February 15), she led Lake Forest to an 80-64 win at Grinnell College with a team-high 16 points and game-high nine rebounds. It was the sixth time in the last seven games that she at least shared the team-lead in scoring and the third straight game that she led the squad in rebounds.

Clerkin averaged 17.0 points and 9.0 rebounds for the week while shooting 54.2% from the field and 72.7% from the free throw line. She ranks second on the team in both scoring (12.5 ppg) and rebounding (7.3 rpg) this season and leads the team's regulars with a .555 field goal percentage.
