Senior guard Devon Liebl (Brookfield, WI/Milwaukee Pius XI) had 11 points and as many boards for her third double-double of the year and seventh of her career.

Three others scored in double figures for the home team, giving Lake Forest five players with at least 10 points in a game for the first time since the opening weekend of the 2003-04 season. Grinnell was held to 34.5% shooting from the field, knocked down 11 of 33 three-pointers, and shot 9-for-15 from the foul line. The Foresters out-rebounded their guests 54-31 and pulled down 14 in a row late in the first half.

The game was tied at 2, 6, 14, and 18 before a 10-0 Lake Forest run gave the home team a double-digit lead. After the Pioneers scored the game’s next seven points to trim the margin to three, the Foresters scored the first half’s final five points to take a 33-25 lead into the locker room at intermission.
