LAKE FOREST, Ill. - Lake Forest College women’s basketball player Susan Hedrick (Geneva, Ill./Geneva) was named Forester Athlete of the Week on Thursday (February 19) for her performance in a pair of victories during the previous seven days.

Hedrick, a senior guard, set a team record with eight three-pointers (in just nine attempts) in a 77-68 triumph over visiting Monmouth College Wednesday night (February 18). She knocked down seven shots from beyond the arc in as many attempts during the final 10 minutes of the first half, helping the Foresters turn a two-point deficit into a 44-24 advantage. Hedrick had one more point by herself than Monmouth at halftime and finished the contest with a career-high 28.

Lake Forest also defeated Knox College 83-53 last Saturday (February 14). Hedrick made two of four three-pointers in the game and finished with eight points.

Hedrick is fourth on the team in scoring this season at 8.0 points per game. She leads the squad with 37 three-point field goals and a .385 shooting percentage from three-point range.

Forester Athletes of the Week are selected by the Athletic Department on Thursdays. Hedrick also earned the award as a basketball player on January 15 and as a soccer player on October 9.
