GRUBBS NABS NATIONAL, CONFERENCE HONORS
Division III Basketball Online has named Lake Forest women's basketball player Alison Grubbs, a sophomore from Cullom, IL (Tri Point High School), to their national team of the week.  Additionally, Grubbs has been selected as the Midwest Conference Player of the Week for the third time this season.
Grubbs put up back-to-back 20-point scoring outputs in Forester wins over St. Norbert (78-52) at home and Carroll (64-59) on the road last week.  The win versus St. Norbert avenged the only conference blemish on Lake Forest's record (a 65-61 defeat at St. Norbert on January 15th ).  Grubbs shot 12-for-23 from the field, 7-for-12 from the three-point line and 9-for-10 from the foul line.  She also added 9 rebounds, 8 assists and 6 steals for the two games.
Each week, Division III Basketball Online selects five men and five women to comprise their team of the week.  Grubbs was just the second Midwest Conference women's basketball player to be selected to the team of the week.  Julie Shill from St. Norbert was selected two weeks ago.  The MWC sports information directors select the conference player of the week.
