Entire Team Contributes to 81-47 Victory Over Beloit 
16 Foresters play, 13 score in lopsided win

LAKE FOREST, IL - The Forester women's basketball team hosted and defeated Beloit College Saturday (February 2nd) afternoon, 81-47. The convincing victory gave the Foresters a 14-5 overall record and a 9-4 mark in the Midwest Conference.

Freshman forward Kandyce Green (Chicago Heights, IL/Marian Catholic) took over the team's season scoring lead with a 17-point performance. Green shot 7-of-14 from the field, including 2-of-4 from three-point range and added a game-high five steals. Her 10.5 points per game leads the Foresters.

Next in scoring for Lake Forest on Saturday was Kristy Freeman (Palatine, IL/Palatine), who had a career-high 16 points. The freshman guard connected four times from beyond the three-point arc in five attempts and added three assists and a career-high five rebounds. Freeman entered the week averaging less than four points per game with a season-high of 10. In three games this week, she scored at least 12 points in each of them, shot 8-of-12 from three-point land and averaged 13.3 points per contest.

Sophomore guard Sherry Wagner (Chicago, IL/Mother McAuley) led the team in rebounds with a career-high seven, She also added six points, three assists and as many steals.

No Forester played more than 20 minutes, and each of the 16 players saw at least five minutes of action. All but three players scored and all but two pulled down at least one rebound. Lake Forest had 17 steals, forced 26 turnovers, and out-rebounded Beloit 51-35. The home team also shot 43.8%, both overall and from beyond the three-point arc while the Buccaneers shot just 35.3% overall and 30.0% from long-range.

The Foresters built an early 13-point lead (20-7) and extended the margin to 15 points by the end of the first half (37-22). A 10-0 run early in the second half put Lake Forest up by 31. The lead would not fall below 21 points the rest of the game.

Next on the Foresters' schedule is an away game at Illinois College (8-12, 6-7 MWC) Wednesday (February 6th) night. Lake Forest defeated the Lady Blues at home earlier this season, 72-48.
