Forward Katie McCants (Menasha, WI/Menasha), the Foresters' only senior, celebrated Senior Day with a game-high 13 points, five rebounds, and two assists. She made five of eight field goal attempts, including two of three from three-point range. With 10 points, sophomore forward Shannon Clerkin (Barneveld, WI/Barneveld) was the only other Lake Forest player to score in double figures. She also led the team with seven rebounds and added two blocked shots and a pair of steals. Sophomore guard/forward Alissa Mildebrath (Carol Stream, IL/West Chicago) scored eight points and pulled down six rebounds. Junior guards Sherry Wagner (Chicago, IL/Mother McAuley) and Tiffany Rudak (Tinley Park, IL/Victor J. Andrew) each scored seven points and Rudak added a game-high five assists. The Foresters shot 45.0% (27-of-60) from the field and 46.2% (6-of-13) from beyond the three-point arc. Monmouth made just 27.3% (12-of-44) of its field goal attempts. Lake Forest out-rebounded the Fighting Scots 43-28 and forced 25 turnovers while committing 20. McCants' three-pointer with nine-and-a-half minutes to go in the first half tied the score at 14. She tied the game again two possessions later and then put the Foresters ahead (18-16) for good with just under seven minutes remaining in the period. Lake Forest led by as many as seven points twice before halftime and by five (27-22) going into the locker room. The home team blew the game open by scoring the first 14 points of the second half. The difference never dropped below 17 points the rest of the way and reached as many as 27.
