GRUBBS NAMED ONE OF TEN NATIONAL FINALIST FOR JOSTENS TROPHY

Lake Forest College junior Alison Grubbs, a guard from Cullom, IL (Tri-Point High School), has been named a finalist for the Jostens Trophy. Ten female and ten male finalists were selected from across the country. The award recognizes the outstanding Division III men's and women's basketball players in the country and is presented to athletes that not only excel on the court, but also show outstanding qualities in the classroom and prove to be invaluable assets to their communities.

Both men's and women's awards will be presented to the deserving student-athletes in conjunction with the Division III basketball championship to be held in Salem, VA, March 17-18. The award presentation will be held at the Salem Rotary Club's weekly meeting on Thursday, March 16 at 12:00pm.

This season, Grubbs is leading her team and the Midwest Conference in scoring at 18.1 points per game. She is currently 38th in the nation in scoring and also leads the Foresters in assists and steals. Grubbs ranks among the top ten of Division III leaders for three-point shooting percentage (2nd) and free throw percentage (9th). Lake Forest has compiled a 59-10 overall record during her three seasons with the team. The Foresters will look to tack on two more wins to that mark this weekend (Feb. 25-26) at the MWC Championship Tournament in DePere, WI.
