GRUBBS SELECTED TO GTE/CoSIDA ALL-DISTRICT FIRST TEAM

Lake Forest College junior Alison Grubbs, a 5-6 guard from Cullom, IL (Tri-Point High School), has been selected to the five-member GTE/CoSIDA College Division Women's Basketball Academic All-District V First Team. All NCAA Division II and III and NAIA schools from Illinois, Wisconsin, Indiana, and Minnesota represent the District V College Division. Grubbs is now eligible for selection to the Academic All-America teams.

Grubbs, a Biology major, has scored over 1,000 career points at Lake Forest and ranks among the school's all-time top ten for career points, assists, steals, field goals, free throws, field goal percentage, free throw percentage, three-point field goal percentage, and three-point field goals. She is a two-time First Team All-MWC selection and the 1997-98 MWC South Division Player of the Year. Last year, Grubbs was a Kodak All-American finalist (one of five in the region and 40 in the country). She has also been honored as an Honorable Mention pick on the All-American Farm Team and as an MWC Player of the Week eight times in her career. The 1998-99 Academic All-Conference pick has been an Honorable Mention All-American each of her first two seasons (Women's DIII News in 1997-98 and Division III Basketball Online in 1998-99). This season, Grubbs is leading the Foresters and the MWC in scoring at 18.1 ppg.
