Alison Grubbs Named to D3hoops.com’s All-Decade Team
Guard named to Third Team

LAKE FOREST, Ill. - D3hoops.com celebrated the first 10 years of covering women's basketball by releasing its All-Decade Team on Monday (February 4). Lake Forest College’s Alison Grubbs (Cullom, Ill./Tri-Point), who played for the Foresters from 1997-2001, was a Third Team selection.

Grubbs is the second-leading scorer in team history with 1,711 career points and 17.9 points per game. She is the program’s all-time leader with 258 career steals, 450 free throws made, a .835 free throw percentage, 215 three-pointers made, and a .426 three-point field goal percentage. Grubbs also ranks third in team history with 300 career assists.

The guard was a four-time First Team All-Midwest Conference selection and the league’s Player of the Year her freshman, junior, and senior seasons. She earned All-American honors after each of her four seasons and received the Josten’s Trophy, given annually to NCAA Division III basketball’s most outstanding student-athlete, as a senior. She was the national three-point shooting champion at 47.9 percent her junior season.

Grubbs was named Academic All-Midwest Conference honors three times, College Sports Information Directors of America First Team Academic All-District honors twice, and Second Team Academic All-American as a senior.

Lake Forest was 80-16 overall with a pair of Midwest Conference championships during Grubbs’ four seasons.

In D3hoops.com’s release Forester head coach Jackie Slaats was quoted as saying that what she “will remember most (about Alison) is her unwavering work ethic, competitiveness, and drive to succeed. I remember saying over and over to our coaching staff that ‘Grubbs just gets it.’ Never have I had a player that practiced as much or as hard as Alison did.”
