Claire Schmidt Named Forester Athlete of the Week
Junior had 16 points and 17 rebounds at Grinnell

LAKE FOREST, Ill. - Lake Forest College women’s basketball player Claire Schmidt (Kankakee, Ill./Bishop McNamara) was named Forester Athlete of the Week on Thursday (February 5) for her performance in a pair of road games in the previous seven days.

Schmidt, a junior forward, recorded her first career double-double in a 78-68 victory at Grinnell College on Saturday (January 31). She finished the game with 16 points and a career-high 17 rebounds.

The Foresters were defeated 80-79 at Monmouth College on Tuesday (February 3). Schmidt scored 11 points and pulled down six rebounds in the contest.

Schmidt averaged 13.5 points and 11.5 rebounds in the two games combined while shooting 57.9% (11-for-19) from the field.

Forester Athletes of the Week are selected by the Athletic Department on Thursdays.
