Lizzy Bauer Named Forester Athlete of the Week
Point guard totaled 34 points and 13 assists in 3 games

Lizzy Bauer also contributed 10 rebounds and 5 steals.
LAKE FOREST , IL - Lake Forest College basketball player Lizzy Bauer (Madison , WI /Madison West) was named Forester Athlete of the Week Thursday (January 12) for her performance in victories over Trinity International University, Monmouth College and Knox College. She averaged 11.3 points and 4.3 assists while shooting 41.2% from three-point range as the Foresters improved to 8-3.

In a Midwest Conference win over Monmouth College (January 7), the junior guard was key in staving off two second-half rallies by the Fighting Scots. The lead was down to two points with 11 ½ minutes remaining when on three consecutive possessions Bauer hit a jumper, assisted on a Shaina Sullivan basket and made a steal and a layup to stretch the margin to six at 50-44.

Monmouth kept it close, however, and with 4:37 left in the game took its first lead since the two minute mark of the first half. Bauer answered with a three pointer that gave the Foresters the lead for good in the 68-57 triumph.

On January 10 Lake Forest faced MWC foe Knox College without its leading scorer, who was out with an injury. Bauer, who averaged 9.9 points entering the contest, made sure that wasn't a factor as she tallied 16 points and a career-high 7 assists in a convincing 77-48 victory.

The Forester Athlete of the Week is chosen by the Athletic Department on Thursdays.
