Sherry Wagner's hot streak has come at a good time for the Foresters.
LAKE FOREST, IL - Lake Forest College basketball player Sherry Wagner (Chicago, IL/Mother McAuley) was named Forester Athlete of the Week after a three-game stretch in which she averaged 14.7 points and shot 68.4% from the field, 63.6% from three-point range and 78.6% from the free throw line. Wagner's contributions helped the Foresters to three Midwest Conference wins that kept them undefeated in league play.

In Friday's (January 16) 67-57 victory over Carroll College, the 5'7" guard poured in a career-high 22 points on 8-for-9 shooting. She drained 3 of 4 three-pointers and added five rebounds and two steals.

Saturday's (January 17) game against Lawrence University was closer than the 84-70 final indicates. Wagner scored twelve points, three of which came on a crucial three-pointer with three minutes left in the game, and was a perfect 4-for-4 from the free throw line.

The senior captain closed out her week with a ten-point, three-steal performance in a 69-61 win at Illinois College (January 20). She was 2-for-4 from behind the arc, marking the sixth straight game in which she shot 50% or better from long range. Wagner currently leads Lake Forest in three-point percentage (.448) and free throw percentage (.813).

The Forester Athlete of the Week is chosen by the Athletic Department on Thursdays.
