Nicole Baich Named Midwest Conference Performer of the Week
Junior helped Foresters grab share of first place in the MWC

LAKE FOREST, Ill. - Lake Forest College women’s basketball player Nicole Baich (Westchester, Ill./Nazareth Academy) was named Midwest Conference Performer of the Week Monday (January 22) for her performance in a pair of Forester victories over the weekend (January 19-20) as the team moved into a tie for first place in the league.

Baich, a junior center, recorded her fourth double-double of the season with a team-high 16 points and 10 rebounds in a 72-63 triumph at Carroll College Friday evening. She shot 5-for-7 from the field in the game and added two assists and four steals. It was the first conference loss of the season for the Lady Pioneers.

The following afternoon the Foresters prevailed 87-77 in double-overtime at Ripon College. Baich scored seven points in the contest and added seven rebounds. She shot 3-for-5 from the field and chipped in with three more steals and a pair of blocked shots.

Baich is second on the team in scoring this season with 11.1 points per game and leads the squad with 7.7 rebounds and 2.0 assists per contest.

Midwest Conference Performers of the Week are selected by the league’s sports information director. Baich has now earned the award twice in her basketball career and twice in volleyball.
