RIPON, Wis. - The Lake Forest College women's basketball team suffered a 76-59 loss at Ripon College Friday night (January 23), dropping the Foresters' overall record to 7-7 and Midwest Conference mark to 4-3. The Red Hawks are now 8-6 overall and 5-2 in league play.

Junior center Lisa Nassin (Evergreen Park, Ill./Evergreen Park) was the only Forester in double figures with 12 points and her six rebounds were ties with junior guard Paige Keasler (Lockport, Ill./Lockport) and sophomore guard Aimee Lockwood (Cudahy, Wis./Cudahy) for team-high honors. Junior forward Claire Schmidt (Kankakee, Ill./Bishop McNamara) was next on the squad with eight points and added five rebounds, two assists, and two steals.

Both teams made 23 field goals, the Red Hawks in 66 attempts and the Foresters in 67. Lake Forest was also 4-for-16 from three-point range and 9-for-17 from the free throw line. Ripon connected on just two of 13 tried from beyond the arc but knocked down 28 of 33 free throws. The Foresters out-rebounded the home team 46-42 but committed 25 turnovers while forcing 21.

Ripon scored the game's first nine points. The Foresters pulled to within one before a 14-4 Red Hawk run gave the home team an 27-16 advantage. Ripon led 35-26 at halftime.

The second half began much like the first with Ripon rattling off 10 straight points to entend the lead to 19. Lake Forest got no closer than 14 points the rest of the way and trailed by as many as 25 late in the game.

The Foresters will play at Beloit College at 2:00 tomorrow afternoon. Live video webcasts of all league contests are available at www.midwestconference.tv.
