GRUBBS GRABS HER SECOND MWC PLAYER OF THE WEEK AWARD

Lake Forest's Alison Grubbs has been selected as the Midwest Conference Player of the Week for the second time this season and the eighth time in her career. The junior guard from Cullom, IL (Tri-Point High School) turned in her best game of the year during an important 75-54 victory against second-place St. Norbert College on Friday (Jan. 14). Grubbs scored a season-high 27 points, including 10-for 11 from the free throw line, and had 8 rebounds, 5 assists, and 4 steals against the Green Knights and then had 10 points, 5 rebounds, 5 assists, and 3 steals in a 68-57 victory against third-place Lawrence on Saturday (Jan. 15).  It marks the second time this season that Grubbs has been named Midwest Conference Women's Basketball Player of the Week.  Lake Forest improved to 6-0 in league play and 11-1 overall. 

Also nominated were Kerry Eddy, Carroll, AnnMarie Ibis, Ripon, Melissa Jones, Monmouth, Julie Schill, St. Norbert, Beth Tarter, Illinois College and Krista Thomas, Knox.
