Beth Lucas Named Forester Athlete of the Week
Junior led Lake Forest to victory at Grinnell

 Beth Lucas has 25 steals in the Foresters' last six games.
LAKE FOREST , IL - Lake Forest College women’s basketball player Beth Lucas (Arlington Heights, IL/John Hersey) was named Forester Athlete of the Week Thursday (January 26) for her performance in the team’s 73-65 triumph at Grinnell College the previous Saturday (January 21).

Lucas, a junior guard, led Lake Forest with a career-high 18 points and five assists. She also pulled down five rebounds and added a team-high three steals. Eight of those points were scored during a decisive 18-2 run late in the first half that turned a 17-9 deficit into a 27-19 Forester lead.

Lucas has averaged 10.5 points, 4.2 rebounds, 2.5 assists, and 4.2 steals per game since being inserted into the starting lineup six games ago. She is now fifth on the squad this year in scoring and has taken over the team lead in steals.

The Forester Athlete of the Week is chosen by the Athletic Department on Thursdays.
