Alison Grubbs Named MWC Women's Basketball Player of the Week
Senior guard scores 61 points in two Forester victories
  

Senior Alison Grubbs is the MWC Player of the Week.
LAKE FOREST, IL - Lake Forest College's Alison Grubbs (Cullom, IL/Tri-Point) has been named the Midwest Conference Player of the Week for the week of January 22-28th. It marked the second time in four weeks that Grubbs has earned the award.

In Friday's (January 26th) 82-61 victory at Carroll College, Grubbs scored a career-high 39 points, pulled down a game-high 8 rebounds and added 3 steals. She shot 10-for-12 from the field, 4-for-4 from three-point range and 15-for-18 from the free throw line. The 39 points and the 15 made free throws are season-highs for any conference player and the point total matches the fifth-highest in the nation so far this year.

On Saturday (January 27th), in the Foresters' 68-59 win at St. Norbert College, Grubbs was the game's leading scorer with 22 points. She made 12 of 13 free throws, pulled down 5 rebounds and dished out 3 assists.

After 16 games, Grubbs leads the 2000-01 Foresters in scoring (22.3 ppg), assists (3.8) and steals (3.2). She is shooting 44.8% from the field, 38.5% from three-point range and 82.4% from the free throw line.
