Clerkin and Green Named First Team All-Conference
Juniors each scored more than 300 points this season

LAKE FOREST, IL - The All-Midwest Conference Women’s Basketball Teams were announced Monday (March 1) and a pair of Lake Forest juniors were among the 10 players named to the First Team. The Foresters finished the season with a 16-8 overall record and a 12-4 mark in MWC games.

Forward Shannon Clerkin (Barneveld, WI/Barneveld) earned the honor for the second straight season. She led Lake Forest with 14.8 points and 8.6 rebounds per contest, set a school record with a .583 field goal percentage, and posted the second-highest blocked shots total (35) in the program’s history. Clerkin recorded double-doubles in each of the last five games of the year and 11 times during the entire season.

In 16 conference games, Clerkin ranked tied-for-third in the league with 14.8 points and second with 8.1 rebounds per contest. She led the MWC in both blocked shots and offensive rebounds and ranked third in field goal percentage.

Guard Kandyce Green (Chicago, IL/Marian Catholic) is an all-conference selection for the first time in her career. Green was second on the team in scoring at 13.2 points per contest and led the squad with 35 steals, a .364 three-point field goal percentage, and a .752 free throw percentage.

Green was tied for eighth place among the MWC’s scoring leaders at 12.8 points per league game. She also ranked fifth in free throw percentage, 13th in steals, and 14th in three-point shooting.

Lake Forest has had at least two players selected to the first team each of the last seven seasons.
