Lisa Nassin Named First Team All-MWC, Claire Schmidt Second Team
Duo combined for more than 27 points and 12 rebounds per league game

LAKE FOREST, Ill. - The Midwest Conference released the 2008-09 All-MWC basketball teams on Tuesday (March 3) and a pair of Lake Forest College players made the list. Lisa Nassin (Evergreen Park, Ill./Evergreen Park) was a First Team selection and Claire Schmidt (Kankakee, Ill./Bishop McNamara) was named to the Second Team for the second straight season.

Nassin led the Foresters with 15 points per game, 14 blocked shots, and 32 steals this season and set a school record by shooting 60.3 percent from the field. The junior center shot a league-high 68.3 percent during the 16-game MWC schedule, ranked third in the conference with 16.2 points per contest, and also appeared among the leaders in free throw percentage and blocked shots.

Schmidt was second on the squad with 11.4 points per game overall and pulled down a team-high 6.4 rebounds per contest. She averaged 10.9 points and 6.9 rebounds per league game and ranked among the conference leaders in field goal percentage, assists, and blocked shots.

The Foresters finished the season with an overall record of 12-11 and their 9-7 mark in conference play was tied for fifth in the standings.

The All-MWC teams are selected by the league's head coaches. Ten players were listed on the First Team and eight on the Second Team.
