Andrea Durante Named Forester Athlete of the Week
Senior led team in scoring during opening weekend of NCAA Tourney

LAKE FOREST, Ill. - Lake Forest College women’s basketball player Andrea Durante (Bloomingdale, Ill./Lake Park) was named Forester Athlete of the Week Thursday (March 8) for her contributions to the team’s performance in the first two rounds of the NCAA Tournament the previous weekend (March 2-3).

Durante, a senior guard/forward, had nine points, four rebounds, two assists, and a pair of steals in Lake Forest’s 65-61 victory over visiting Maryville University (Mo.) on Friday. It was the first NCAA Tournament victory in the history of Forest women’s basketball.

Lake Forest was eliminated from the tournament by Washington University (Mo.) on Saturday. Durante scored a team-high 14 points in the contest and added five rebounds, an assist, two blocked shots, and a steal. She shot 5-for-8 from the field in the contest.

Durante led the Foresters with 12.7 points per game this season. She also averaged 4.2 rebounds, 0.5 blocked shots, and 1.4 steals per contest.

Forester Athletes of the Week are selected by the Athletic Department on Thursdays.
