GRUBBS SELECTED A FINALIST FOR KODAK ALL-AMERICA
The Women's Basketball Coaches Association (WBCA),
in cooperation with Eastman Kodak Company, has named Lake Forest sophomore
Alison Grubbs (Cullom, IL/Tri-Point High School) as one of 40 finalists
for the Kodak All-America Team. The finalists, who were voted upon
by WBCA member coaches in each of the eight geographical districts, are
now in the running for selection to the 10-member Kodak All-America Team.
Grubbs averaged 18.3 points, 4.3 rebounds,
3.3 assists and 2.7 steals per game for the Foresters, who finished the
season with a 20-3 record and won the Midwest Conference regular season
title. She also shot 40.8% from the three-point line and 78.6% from
the free throw line. Grubbs scored in double figures in every game
but one and tallied 20 or more points 11 times, including outbursts of
27, 29 and 30 points. She made at least one three-point field goal
in all but two games and at least one free throw in all but one game.
Grubbs moved into the top 15 of the Lake Forest career record book for
points, steals, assists, field goal percentage, free throw percentage and
free throws made in just her second season. On her way to her second
consecutive First-team All-Conference selection, Grubbs was named MWC Player
of the Week four times and twice to the Division III Basketball Online
National Team of the Week.
The Kodak All-America program has honored
the finest NCAA Division III student-athletes since 1983 when Kodak became
an official sponsor of the WBCA.
