Foresters Defeat Concordia University 71-37
Grubbs leads the way with 21 points

LAKE FOREST, IL - After starting the season with two losses, the Lake Forest College women's basketball team has won two of their last three. The second of those wins came Wednesday (November 29th) at home against Concordia University (River Forest, IL) by a score of 71-37.

While the Foresters' offense was its strength at the Washington University Invitational this past weekend (they shot 50% from the field), the team's defense stole the show - and the ball - against Concordia. Senior Alison Grubbs (Cullom, IL/Tri-Point) was the leading thief with 6 steals to go with her 9 rebounds and game-high 21 points. Junior Jenni Klusman (New Berlin, WI/New Berlin West) was second on the team in both steals (5) and points (12). Lake Forest had a total of 24 steals on the evening, 10 more than in any of their first four games this season.

Though they shot just 37.5% from the field, the Foresters held Concordia to a meager 12 of 63 (19.0%) shooting night and forced them into 39 turnovers. The home team also managed a 60-39 edge in rebounds, with a team-high 11 coming from freshman Tangara Cross (Garland, TX/Naaman Forest).

Lake Forest will look to even its wins and losses at three when they host Midwest Conference foe Grinnell College on Saturday (December 2nd) at 3:00. The squad's final game of the fall semester will be next Saturday (December 9th) at Illinois Wesleyan University.
