Lizzy Bauer
LAKE FOREST, Ill. - Lake Forest College women’s basketball player Lizzy Bauer (Madison, Wis./Madison West) was named Forester Athlete of the Week Thursday (November 30) for her contributions to a pair of victories over ranked opponents at the McWilliams Classic in St. Louis, Missouri, over the weekend (November 25-26).

Bauer, a senior point guard, scored a team-high 16 points in Saturday’s 83-81 overtime triumph over host Washington University, the 12th-ranked team in the nation in D3hoops.com’s preseason poll. She knocked down four three-pointers in the contest, including two in the final 62 seconds of regulation as the Foresters erased a 17-point deficit.

On Sunday Bauer poured in another 18 points as Lake Forest won 75-63 over Williams College, which was ranked 17th in D3hoops.com’s preseason poll. She shot 4-for-6 from the field and 10-for-12 from the free throw line in the game.

Bauer was selected as the tournament’s Most Valuable Player. She was also named Midwest Conference Performer of the Week on Tuesday (November 28).

Forester Athletes of the Week are selected by the Athletic Department on Thursdays. Bauer also earned the award once last year.
