Coaching Staff
The 2010-11 season will be Tamlyn Tills' third at Lake Forest College and 16th as a collegiate head coach. The Foresters posted a 15-9 overall record and 11-5 mark in Midwest Conference play in 2009-10, Tills' first year with the program. Lake Forest claimed a spot in the four-team MWC Tournament for the 11th time in the last 13 years. Lisa Nassin was a First Team All-MWC selection for the second year in a row following the 2009-10 season. In addition, four players on the team were named Academic All-MWC, matching the total from Tills' first year as head coach. Several school records were established during Tills' first two years at the College. The 2008-09 Foresters tied one mark with 108 points in a game and their .621 field goal percentage that night set another record. Nassin set game (.938) and season (.603) marks for field goal percentage and Susan Hedrick knocked down eight three-pointers in one contest. The 2009-10 team dished out a program-best 30 assists in a single contest and Nassin finished her career having shot 57.4 percent from the field. Tills was the head coach at Concordia University Chicago for the previous six seasons. She led the 2007-08 Cougars to the semifinals of the conference tournament and came within one win of the program’s record for victories in a season. Her 2003-04 squad was the first in school history to host a first-round game in the Northern Illinois-Iowa Conference Tournament and the 2005-06 squad made the program's first-ever appearance in the league's championship game. Prior to her time at Concordia Chicago, Tills was a head coach for three seasons (1999-2002) at Loras College in Dubuque, Iowa, and four (1992-96) at Concordia University in St. Paul, Minnesota. Tills' teams have posted a higher winning percentage than the previous season in nine of her 14 years as a collegiate head coach. Tills was also an NCAA Division I assistant coach at Marquette University from 1987-90 and at California State University-Fullerton from 1996-99. She also has experience at the professional level, having worked in the front office of the NBA's Milwaukee Bucks from 1987-90. Her coaching career began at Divine Savior Holy Angels High School in Milwaukee, Wisconsin, where she was the athletic director and volleyball and basketball coach from 1985-87. Tills was also a successful player, scoring more than 1,000 career points at both Milwaukee Lutheran High School and the University of Wisconsin-La Crosse. She was an All-American and part of the 1980-81 Association for Intercollegiate Athletics for Women national championship team at La Crosse and is a member of the school’s Hall of Fame.
